HDFF designed its 2011 “Stay Safe” program, a safety and security training tailor made for humanitarian organizations working in Southeast Asia in dangerous or considered dangerous working environment. (Remark: sometimes a “safe” considered environment can change quickly as the events in Bangkok 2010 showed).
• Are you prepared for possible safety incidents?
• Does your organization have Standard Operation Procedures/ Contingency Plans?
• Do you know how standard land mines look like?
These are important questions for your organizations’ management and security focal points. HDFF’s training “Stay Safe” will answer these requirements with a 5 day training, where the participants will learn to make a situation analysis, design Standard Operation Procedures/Contingency Plans and getting a practical session related to de-mining, firefighting and general behavior (e.g. at check points). For the latter part HDFF could secure the cooperation from the Royal Thai Armed Forces and Thai Mine Action Centre for the practical part of the training. Participants (staff personnel included UN agencies as well as INGO) from the last training in March 2011 were fully satisfied and highly motivated to apply the training contents in their respective organizations.
The next training is scheduled for 22 – 26 August 2011 in Bangkok.
HDFF envisage a cultural sensitive Southeast Asian habits considering training with a highly participatory and practical approach in order to come close to HDFF’s philosophy of “Knowledge Improves Life” and this can be used for saving and protecting the lives and health of implementing personnel i.e. in this case “Knowledge for Saving Lives”.
REGISTRATION IS OPEN UNTIL 20 JULY 2011
