<p>HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn referred by Thai people as Phra Thep  meaning &#8220;Princess Angel&#8221; has a passion for technology. Consequently she studied in the Asian Institute for Technology (AIT) in 1984 to obtain a certificate in Remote Sensing Technology, after which she was also know as &#8220;Princess of Technology&#8221;. On 07 September 2010 AIT HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn opened the AIT HAll of Fame to demonstrate to the world the achievements of outstanding AIT alumni. She was the first of 12 selected honorable people to be introduced into AIT Hall of Fame in a ceremonial process on this auspicious day. HDFF board members attended the ceremony as special invited guests.</p>

<p>They congratulated also a close friend of the foundation General (ret) Boonsrang Niumpradit to his honorable achievement to become member of the AIT Hall of Fame. In this context he also pledged further continuous friendship and support for HDFF and its team members. HDFF board members also had time to discuss various issues with HE Sohail Mahmood, Ambassador from Pakistan and various high level personalities after the official celebration.</p>

<dt>On  Saturday 28 August 2010 Dhurakij Pundit University International    College (DPU IC) opened officially the &#8220;Master of Science and Doctor of    Philosophy in Strategy and Intelligence&#8221; programs. These programs   answer  the trend towards greater military involvement in the resolution   of  conflict situations which has created the need for modern thinking    military and civilian professionals capable of understanding the    backgrounds of these conflicts and who are able to apply forward    thinking towards their satisfactory resolution. Against this backdrop    the DPU IC programs are targeting the strategic development of senior    military, police and civilian professionals in order to effectively    operate in the changing world to achieve their goals. HDFF&#8217;s Executive    Director Dr. Wilfried A. Herrmann attended the ceremony and discussed    cooperation possibilities afterward. Further meetings are scheduled.</dt>

<p>So let  them open slowly and lets make long term politics. It took several  decades to bring the Berlin Wall down and the first &#8220;soft&#8221;approach from  the other side came 25 years before the fall. Give the Burmese time and  let the young generation come.</p>
<p>HDFF&#8217;s team experienced a lot of  very very good young capable people in Burma and HDFF likes to work with  them. The future is in the Youth !</p>

<p>On 17 August 2010 the Republic of Indonesia celebrated the 65 years anniversary of independence and 60 years of bilateral Indonesian-Thai diplomatic relations in the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel Bangkok. HDFF’s Executive Director Dr. Wilfried A. Herrmann – Alumni of the SESKOAD Bandung- congratulated the Ambassador and met a lot of friends, even being able to retrieve some rudimentary Bahasa again.  Some ideas for nascent programs were also discussed and will be presented later on this web site.</p>

productive land,” Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said in a message to the<br />
&#8230;  launch of the Decade for Deserts and the Fight against Desertification  in Fortaleza, Brazil, where the UN Convention to Combat Desertification  (UNCCD) should get some implementation boost.</p>
<p>Desertification is defined as the degradation of drylands, which  comprise more than 40 per cent of the worlds land surface and are home  to 2.1 billion people  one in every three people worldwide.</p>
