On the 7th of May, 2014, Human Development Forum Foundation is holding a Chairman’s Circle conference titled ‘Thailand’s Challenges and ASEAN 2015’ to focus on the current political and security turmoil in Thailand, exploring important issues such as the roots of the political protests and conflict between the opposing sides, insider/outsider perspectives, societal and political implications, and potential solutions to the ongoing crisis. We will also be discussing developments in Southern Thailand, what effects the recent political crisis is having on it, and the repercussions towards ASEAN integration.

We have four highly knowledgeable guest panelists speaking at our event, who aim to bring deeper insight into the political and security situation. The speakers are as follows:

  • Dr. Kitti Prasertsuk, Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University, will be presenting on ‘Thailand’s Turmoil – Impact on ASEAN Preparedness’
