SUMMARY:Hostile Environment Awareness Training (September 2026)
DESCRIPTION:HDFF’s Flagship “Hostile Environment Awareness Training HEAT(Advanced)” is an advanced scenario based field safety training built to address the needs of implementing personnel from (I)NGOs\, media\, governmental and UN agencies\, international civilians\, and corporations. It is intended for individuals working\, based\, or traveling in high-risk “Red Countries\,” or high-risk areas within medium-risk countries (as classified by insurance and foreign service advisories). \nThis HEAT training aims to improve participants’ security awareness and handling of potentially dangerous situations in hostile environments while following relevant and appropriate international regulations. Since this is a core responsibility for employers\, this training will also help enhance the organization’s “Duty of Care” profile. The HEAT (Advanced) training is an engaging\, scenario-based training that includes three days focused on immersive\, field-based scenario exercises. To complement the basic security knowledge\, a brief “Pre-HEAT online” module is offered before the practical topics. The training will be led by experienced and culturally sensitive trainers\, ensuring the safety of all participants. \nObjectives: \n\nTo increase the understanding of proactive security and basic field measures taken before\, during\, and after a field mission in hostile environments.\nTo enhance the resilience of personnel in hazardous environments by knowing how to manage dangerous situations and related stress\, e.g. checkpoint behavior\, ambush/active shooter\, hostile crowds\, IED\, weapons effects\, kidnapping\, rescue by force\, First Aid\, and fire fighting in the field.\nTo make decisions effectively as a team leader and function as a supportive team member in hostile environments and stressful situations\, and gain a working knowledge of PTSD\, Moral Injury (MI)\, and Psychological First Aid (PFA).\n\nFee Information: \n\nEarly bird: $2\,995 USD (Until 14th August 2026)\nRegular: $3\,485 USD (Until 28th August 2026)\n\nIncluded in the fees: Lunch\, Coffee Breaks\, Certificate (certified by Asian Institute of Technology (AIT)\, and Training Materials as well as hotel accommodation in Hua-hin w/breakfast\, Transportation from Bangkok to Hua-hin (vice versa)\,transportation from Hua-hin hotel to training site(vice versa) and 4 nights group dinner(SEAFOODS).

DESCRIPTION:Module 1: From Needs to Solutions – Project Management and Risk Awareness \nMany (national) organizations that rely on donors for financial support to maintain\, expand\, and create programs must be able to write strong proposals\, design needs-based projects\, draft Log Frames and budgets and have a basic idea of Monitoring\, Evaluation\, Accountability and Learning (MEAL). On top of that\, a basic project risk assessment is crucial for any kind of project implementation as it helps in writing substantial assumptions in the Log Frame\, thus improving the quality of proposals and\, subsequently\, the project implementation. This HDFF designed workshop seeks to build a strong understanding of the intertwined skills needed for safe project management using realistic scenario-based situations.  \nObjectives: \n\nProject/proposal design with the help of problem / objective tree\nLog Frame as a major design\, implementation\, monitoring\, and evaluation tool\nBudgeting and planning of monitoring and evaluation of a project\nBasic project risk management as an integral part of project management\n\nMonitoring should be considered as an attitude that underpins everything we do. In Monitoring\, Evaluation\, Accountability\, and Learning\, one can get lost in forests of sophisticated Excel tables and endless data collection tools\, and nearly drown in oceans of monitoring books treating it as a separate and sophisticated science. The more one gets into the topic\, the more complex it appears and the more overwhelmed and confused one becomes. Therefore\, HDFF\, with its experience in M.E.A.L. as impact evaluators\, designed an easy-to-understand 4 days MEAL course focusing on core tools and experience.  \nModule 2: Empowered Leadership – Strategy in Action \nObjectives: \n\nTo increase understanding of the essence of MEAL.\nTo apply practical MEAL tools (Log Frame & indicators).\nTo help participants understand the learning process going along with M.E.A.L
