STS NALGAE/PAENG FLOODING – 271 displaced population
As of 15 March 2023, Bangsamoro READi reported 271 people (63 families) displaced in 2 evacuation centers in Datu Blah Sinsuat and Upi municipalities in Maguindanao Del Norte. A number of IDPs are also staying in makeshift tents or with their relatives while waiting for relocation from the authorities.
MARAWI CONFLICT – 80,300 displaced population
As of December 2022, approximately 80,300 people (16,070 families) remain displaced since May 2017. Around 70% of the internally displaced population are in home-based setting while the rest are in transitory sites
DISPLACEMENT IN MAGUINDANAO – 6900* displaced population
In March 2021, military operations against Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs), clan feuds and crime resulted to the displacement of the affected population. About 1,250 people (250 families) remain displaced in the municipalities of Guindulungan due to firefight between AFP and BIFF. In February-March 2023, about 1,945 people are displaced in Maguindanao due to armed encounter between MILF-BIAF and NSAGs.
ZAMBOANGA SIEGE – 3,600 displaced population
Nine years on, about 3,600 people (720 families) remain displaced in Zamboanga City waiting for the completion of the permanent housing units under the Zamboanga City Roadmap to Recovery and Rehabilitation (Z3R) program. 290 people (58 families) are still living in Mampang and Buggoc transitory sites, while more than 3,300 people are home-based.
DAVAO DE ORO EARTHQUAKE – 20, 000 displaced population
A 5.9-magnitude earthquake (earlier reported as 6.2-magnitude) jolted Davao Region, 7 March 2023, with epicenter reported at the boundaries of Maragusan and New Bataan municipalities. As of 13 March, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DSWD-DROMIC) recorded about 20,000 people displaced with 7, 715 people in 25 ECs while others are in homebased setting in the province of Davao De Oro.
DISPLACEMENT IN LANAO DEL SUR – 780 displaced population
In February-March 2023, more than 780 people are displaced in 2 municipalities in Lanao del Sur due to skirmishes between AFP and NSAGs.
LPA/SHEAR LINE DISPLACEMENT – 11,000* displaced population
More than 11,000 people (2,380 families) are still displaced mostly in in Zamboanga, Davao del Sur and Agusan del Norte due to flooding brought by continous rains because of the Shearline, Low Pressure Area and Northeast Monsoon in January 2023
COTABATO AND DAVAO DEL SUR EARTHQUAKES – 9,900 displaced population
More than 9,900 people (2,355 families) are still living in makeshift dwellings since October 2019 while awaiting their transfer to permanent shelters. IDPs top concerns are the source of income to support the family, e.g., food, and dilapidated tents and transitory houses that needed replacement.
DISPLACEMENT IN SULU – 2,110* displaced population
Approximately 2,110 people (422 families) have been protractedly displaced in Patikul town since 2017 due to series of military operations against Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs). Assessment of housing project site in Barangay Maligay for the IDPs and preparation of road network was conducted by the authorities.
DISPLACEMENT IN BASILAN – 1,200* displaced population
Unresolved clan feuds and armed conflict causes the prolonged displacement of 1,200 people (242 families) since 2019 and 2021. 1
